Spreading the seasonal cheer this Ramadhan

14 August 2012 – It was an exciting day for the children of four deserving children’s homes as they were given a chance to shop till they drop all in the name of charity. In the festive spirit of Eid, Paradigm Mall and Tesco Stores Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. invited the young children from Rumah Kids, Rumah Anak Yatim Limpahan Kasih, Shelter Home and Rumah Amal Suci Rohani to participate in this educational yet challenging activity. The sweep was broken down into two rounds where eight teams are tasked to fill up their shopping carts up to RM1000 worth of items in 15 minutes. The top two teams will then have to duke it out for another round with RM2000 as the goal. Each team will take home the contents for the first round sweep while the second runner up walked away with RM3000 worth of shopping items. After both rounds and the finally tally, the winning team came from Rumah Anak Yatim Limpahan Kasih assisted by Anasa Jacobs and Mohamad Fairuz Ramli from the Sun Newspaper who brought home over RM3000 worth of shopping items courtesy of Tesco. The children were later taken to Golden Screen Cinemas for a special screening of Pixar’s animated movie, Brave, followed by a delicious buka puasa session at Old Town White Coffee. The children were also given special treats courtesy of Planet Popcorn and Popular Bookstores.
