Rantaro was born into a family of village ninjas. Once he came of age, Rantaro was sent to the Ninja Academy to train himself to become an elite ninja. As he struggles with his studies, he befriends Shinbei and Kirimaru, where the three of them learn the art of camouflage, ambush and ninjutsu. The students find out if they have what it takes to be a true ninja when one of their schoolmates is threatened by an unknown assailant.
