Hard Rock Café KL

Hard Rock Cafe

Rockin, rollin and rowdy

Planet Hollywood imploded, Fashion Café never made it here, but Hard Rock Café rocks on. The American-born music themed restaurant and bar continues to pull in everyone from tourists to locals, big bikers to live music fans. Friendly staff serves up Tex-Mex dishes of ridiculous proportions; then at night when the tourists have taken their HRC KL tees back to their hotel room, the joint rolls off its hinges as denizens of every age, colour and creed take for the floor or make a play. It ain’t Cleveland but it’s home.

It’s not called the Hard Rock Café for nothing. Bands that have dropped in to play here include Arrested Development. You can count on live music from Mon-Sat, from 11pm onwards; a rotating in-house band takes to the stage to perform a setlist of rock classics and current chart toppers – and yes they do accept requests. The resident DJ keeps the house moving between sets.

Americana and Tex-Mex. The burgers have been described as legendary (and start off at RM43), while no table is complete without a plate of nachos (RM35), an order of fajitas (RM40-RM50) and a hot fudge brownie with all the fixings (RM28). Kitchen closes at 10.30pm.

Forget the signature Hard Rock Café drinks with souvenir glass – that’s for tourists. Instead reach for the margaritas or drink to your city with a mug of draught Carlsberg or Hoegaarden. For the teetotal, the milkshakes are legend.
