State of the Beer Art

The Greek philosopher Plato once said – “He was a wise man who invented beer”, although there is no historical record of the ‘person’ who discovered the magnificent potion. But it’s only dutiful of mankind to continue fostering the art of the recipe, and while Malaysians were busy doting on mainstream drafts and bottles, a mysterious man introduced us to microbrewery. Hence Craft Brews.

Their signature choices range from RedDot (Czech Pilsner, Monster Green Lager, etc; RM29/pint) to Flying Dogs (Old Scratch Amber Lager, In-Heat Wheat Hefeweizen, etc; RM24/bottle) and Rogue (Brutal Bitter, Dead Guy, etc; RM26/bottle); each of which will give you a different kind of quenching finish. But Craft Brews isn’t here to patronize – it still appreciates the common tap, like Hoegaarden (RM33/pint) and Carlsberg (RM28/pint). The brew house is also a (non-halal) restaurant, with a menu that offers great companion to its beers. The Caramelised Roast Pork (RM16) and Bacon-Wrapped Classic Roast Pork Skewers (RM16) are highly recommended. The rest of the menu also carries pastas, burgers, lamb and ribs.
