Bar Madrid

Bar Madrid

Get real...

We don’t know if it’s a saying here but it’s better to be red than dead seems to apply. Enter through Bar Madrid’s decorative iron gates and inside is a simply furnished bar and restaurant wrapped in raging red walls and decorated with the Spanish flag.

Suburban and sterile Palm Square is not a patch on Plaza Mayor in the Spanish capital, but pair a bottle or glass of Spanish wine, cava (the Spanish version of champagne) or sangria with the kitchen’s non-halal tapas and you’ve got a terrific way of whiling away a sweltering afternoon in the suburbs.

Spanish wine like Ladero Tem Pranillo Wine is a steal at RM70/ bottle. Bar Madrid also serves cava like Lavit Rosado Brut, a sparkling rose cava, and sangria too. Tapas range from RM8-20. The Cheese and Spanish Cold Cut Platters from RM30.90 to RM33.90 go a long way and the Grilled Iberico takes 30 minutes but is worth the wait.
